Web Designers and Developers

More often than not I would come across someone that says “Your weird” And I am pretty sure that’s not far from the truth at all. I am a creative person by nature, someone that explores the bounderies of his mind and I tend to not “swim with the school of fish”, no, I am the one that swims upstream. Now all this got me thinking what are the personallity traits web designers and developers?

Honestly… I think we are all NUTS! We spend our days infront of computer screens writing code and designing layouts. Most of us spend anything from 14 to 20 hours a day doing this stuff…thats allot. We solve problems constantly and we do not stop until the problem is solved. We strive to be better, to improve, for the next project to better then the last. As the technology of the online world moves we have to move with it, always looking for new and better ways to do what we do.

I came across two pretty interesting articles writen by Aidan Huang that he wrote for webdesigner depot. The first articke was about the 7 personality types of Designers and the second, 7 personality types of developers. Here are two excerpts with links.

7 Personality Types of Designers

“Design is a universal language. It transcends all cultural and national boundaries. It is diverse and ever-changing. Despite the fact that designs can be universally appreciated, the artists behind them are all unique and talented individuals.

What kind of designer are you? What is your philosophy? How do you contribute to the design community? Designers from different walks of life might have similar answers to these questions, and yet we are all different.”

7 Personality Types of Developers

“Developers and programmers are meticulous individuals, and developers sometimes stand out even among themselves.

We introduced you to 7 types of designers in our article 7 Personality Types of Designers Today. Developers have peculiar traits and habits of their own. This article looks at 7 types of developers today and their defining characteristics.”

Personally I think that both articles are pretty accurate and explaine the personalities of web designers and developers pretty well. Regardless of what type of designer or developer you are or what type of personality you have you have to love what you do and have a passion for it.
