Let’s talk about linking for a moment. Linking is a way for you to promote your website and it’s content. It is also considered a very effective form of online marketing, there is however a big BUT when it comes to linking. I covered I little about linking in SEO Myth 2 and said that it is very important to only link to and from relevant sites to your site. Adding your link to a site that...

It certainly shouldn’t. Don’t lock yourself into a year contract with any company unless you already have an established business relationship. Yes seo should be performed on a month to month basis and there must be a clear understanding of the objectives and relative timetable. Often, both the long and short term maintenance contracts that many firms insist on including with each job...

Guarantees would be nice if they were worth the paper they are printed on. In fact, most guarantees from SEO firms have the same fine print in them, as long as they get one of your keywords to the top of any major search engines, they have fulfilled their end of the agreement (yeah right!). Content, keyword density, meta data, site structure etc all play a role.
As I said you need...

You can and should optimise every page on your site. A common mistake made by many is only optimising the landing page, this is a bad move. For example, if you have a website that sells a product or delivers a service you have to not only optimise the index (also reffered to as the home or landing page) but also the page where the content of the product or service is located, after all this is where...

If you’re a huge corporate giant with a arsenal of websites then yes. The problem with hiring someone in house is, they are paid hourly or by salary. Most SEO firms (SA-SEO.co.za included), charge per project. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, you pay a set fee. So hiring a firm to do the work saves you a lot of money.
Also remember as a SEO specialist I focus on this industry and the...

In the short term…true. In the long term…no way. Why? Organic SEO is preferred 5 to 1 over PPC. As I said in the previous article Organic results are preferred as those results are the most relevant to your search term. In most cases PPC ads have little or no relevance to the search. With PPC almost any keyword can be used because it’s paid for.
I normally tell website owners the...
