SEO Myth 7 – Content and the Correct Keyword Density will Make my Site Rank Well

Wrong, very very wrong, especially if you want to rank well on Google. You must have both on and off site SEO. Keyword density may work on MSN (for the time being), but it will take more than that to rank well for all search engines. There are a lot of factors that play a role in having a well ranked site. Content, keyword density, meta data, site structure etc all play a role.

As I said you need on and off site SEO. On site SEO is when you optimise your website. Off site SEO is when you promote your site. This can be done by adding your link to directories like SA-SEO and MyPE or by writings articles or online press releases, creating a blog or by adding your link to other high ranking sites.

By doing this you establish relevant relationships between your site and mediums. You must however remember to keep your off site SEO relevant. For example, if you want to add your link to a directory make sure to add it in the right category and if you add your link to another site make sure that the site shares some sort of relevancy to your site.

SEO is like a swiss army knife. You can hold in the palm of your hands, but you have to know how to use all the tools.
