The difference between website optimization and search engine optimization
Website optimisation is the process of optimising a website for a specific perpose. A company intranet for example will optmisied for the internal team using it. A website for a schoold will be optimised for students, teachers and potensial future students. Website optimisation means that a website is optimised for the usage of certain group of users. Those users are the most important and the website needs to meet their specific needs and expectations. Search engines may not be the no. 1 priority when optimising a website.
Search engine optimisation is where a website is optimised for both internet users and search engines. In this case both new and existing users have to find the website usefull and optmised for their needs. At the same time the website has to also meet search engine requirements about its construction and general search engine guidelines concerning websites. Search engine optimised websites need to be visible in search engines to attract more potential users and cusatomars to that website and must be instantly readable and understandable for those new users.
Website optmisation and search engine optimisation (SEO) go hand in hand, you cannot just choose one or the other. Both have to implemented inorder for your site to successfull.
